Image Debris Theory \ Foundational Statement
May,9, 2025
What I propose is not a collection of artworks, but a structural system of image-language.
I call it the Image Debris Theory.
This theory does not aim to represent, narrate, or convey meaning. It focuses on the failure of viewing and the collapse of visual systems, using these moments as the foundation for new forms of generation.
To me, an image is not a window to the world. It is the leftover trace of a structural breakdown.
My work is to identify, organize, and activate these remnants—so they may become new units of viewing.
My method includes the following strategies:
- Deploying failed viewing: I interrupt traditional optical paths and dismantle visual hierarchies to trigger perceptual dislocation;
- Constructing image debris syntax: I extract visual and semantic units from failed systems and use them as the grammar of a generative process;
- Refusing semantic resolution: Images are not vessels of emotion or meaning. They exist to expose the insufficiency of language and the residue of failed representation.
Image Debris Theory is a self-operating visual logic. It does not rely on narrative, nor obey lived experience.
It exists through failure, and generates only through collapse.
I do not produce complete works. I construct systems in ruins.
